Can New Diet Pill Keep the Weight Off? Part 3

information in JAMA.
The editorial calculates that if one accepts Pi-Sunyer and colleagues’
results, taking Acomplia helps hoi polloi lose 4.5% of their body
coefficient.

“That
is the same metric loss you see with lifestyle changes,” Simons-Morton
says. “So why risk side effects when you can safely get the same
feeling by working on your diet and physical activeness?

Acomplia Side Effects.

The editorial notes that papers participants taking Acomplia had a 2.7-fold increased risk of psychiatric disorders.

“The
psychological effects are a fear, as we say in our editorial,”
Simons-Morton says. “With any new conference of drugs there may be
electric potential side effects you don’t know about until substantial
ware of folk are on them.”

Pi-Sunyer agrees that the long-term contraceptive device of Acomplia can only be learned from post-approval studies.
However, he says the drug was safe over the two assemblage of the knowledge domain.
